Less School Doesn't Always Mean Less Education or Success

Joseph Lin reported in Time magazine in May 2010 on the "Ten Most Successful Dropouts." Not all on the following list are geniuses, but for those of you who are deficient in credentials and papers, it is nice to see what is still possible. Here is the list:

1. Bill Gates
2. Steve Jobs3. Frank Lloyd Wright4. Buckminster Fuller5. James Cameron6. Mark Zuckerberg7. Tom Hanks8. Harrison Ford9. Lady Gaga
10. Tiger Woods

None of the above obtained a college degree before succeeding in their various endeavors. Formal education has its value, but if the means are not there, or other plans intervene, there are always ways to learn without universities. We all would do well to continue studying and learning throughout life, whether that is through traditional routes or not.
